How do you innovate or brainstorm?

How does it come to you? I find that for me I need to be near a whiteboard (or sometimes called grease board) and just start drawing and thinking. It doesn't often come the first time. In fact usually, it takes me 3, 4 or more iterations. But suddenly what I was thinking becomes real for me. How about you? How do you get ideas from your head to the world?

I think I do a little of both. The plan for this place was in my head, I sort of stared and it all was there, like I visioned it. I came inside and on paper, I drew what I seen down to the trees that will be planted. How long this takes I do not know. Other times ideas come and I just get down to doing it, or writing about it if I am blogging.

I've seen both sides of that in your posts over the last few years. Hard work, determination, innovation and just a little bit of magic!
