I have a question for people who had tooth extractions. Is it normal to have severe pain after 5 days? After the extraction, it wasn't very painful. But now, after 5 days, I am feeling a pain that doesn't go even with pills. I tried everything and the pain doesn't go. I will go to the dentist, but I want to know if this pain is normal.

This is normal, the anesthesia has ceased. Now the wound hurts, it happens. Especially if we are talking about wisdom tooth

No you shouldn't have that kinda pain after that many days, you should go back to the dentist.

You need to call the dentist, I agree dry socket is a possibility

You should call your dentist. I don't think severe pain is normal after 5 days

No its not. Sounds like you have what they call a dry socket. Go back to the dentist.

Not at all normal after that amount of time. I had throbbing pain the first night or two after having my wisdom teeth out, but by five days out it was just fine. Suddenly having pain after that amount of time points to possible complications, especially if your prescribed medication isn't touching the pain. Make sure you're keeping up on taking the right dosage on schedule for now and if it gets any worse call your dentist. Some have after hours or emergency numbers for situations like this.
