Neglect about those balloons

Few days ago, they had a small inauguration of a grotto they made near the church. I was asked to get the balloons and flowers.
Here's where my mistake comes in, I failed to tied the rope much. While I was busy making food for my dogs, Mom comes in asking for the balloons. I checked outside and it was gone, all 20+ of them.
Of course she was mad and had to asked the tenant to make new ones.
My lesson here, you get balloons, put them inside.
Neighbors might be wondering were the balloons came from.
