Yesterday was my much anticipated, well prepared for, date with Lolah. My bag was packed. Lunch in hand, I headed out of the door at 8:45 AM. Brilliant sunshine greeted me and I drove the ten minutes to our local quilt shop. Everything was ready. Staff helped me to load my quilt front, back and batting onto the machine. The bobbins were wound. The pantograph laid in place and centered. I was off! Lolah was so cooperative. The bobbin ran out on the edge. That never happens.....the second bobbin, the same thing! (Maybe it's time to buy a lottery ticket?) The rest of the morning went smoothly, even if the bobbin was not as cooperative the next time it ran out. By 12:15, the first quilt was off the machine and we took a short lunch break. After lunch, it was time to reload Lolah with the second quilt. Big oops on my part....I had mis measured by backing. I could add a piece or just purchase a backing. It wasn't in my plans but I opted to buy a quilt back (I love the fabric I chose) and we were back in business. The pantograph I chose for the second quilt looked easy and fun! It wasn't! While quilting left to right it went well.....the return trip.....not so much. It was hard to follow and stay on track with the multiple crossovers. Then Lolah decided that she would also throw in a challenge or two. Multiple thread breaks.....that slowed everything down even more. Finally at 4 PM we had a decision to make. Finish the quilt, or take it off the machine and finish it at a later date. Staff agreed to stay and help me finish (I love these ladies) and at 4:30 PM we finally took this quilt off the machine....ready for me to bind it. I was exhausted....but two quilts were totally quilted.....now.....on to binding and labels!

I can imagine how exhausted you must be but it must be so nice to have your quilts finished. Good for you. And how nice of the ladies to stay and help.

Good job. Does this mean more labels, or do you already have the labels for the two you just completed? (Just trying to determine whether I need to relocate my Brother in order to keep it accessible with all the comings and goings.)

More labels. I'm sorry.....no rush on this....(maybe I need to consider getting my own machine?)

@Morleyhunt I don't mind doing more labels. I'll try to set things up so you can play on the computer and let you try your hand at designing your own.

What a big day you had, glad that all went well and you finished your quilts. Nothing feels better than to finish something you have started

That sounds like a very productive day! The machinery looks very technical.

You had a very productive day getting the quilting work done on both quilts. I look forward to seeing the end results after you finish the binding.
