My World Of Cooking

Hello everyone. Welcome to my world of cooking. I am excited about starting blogs about my cooking experiences. I have been cooking for a good many of years, but never realized until the last 10, how much passion I had when I did cook. Friends and family seemed to constantly tell me that my face would light up anytime recipes were discussed.  Coupled with the fact...that if I brought a covered dish to a gathering...there were rarely any leftovers to bring home. Now... I have read the rules on myLot, and it says that we can't post recipes; but I read nowhere that says we can't discuss our experience cooking the recipes. If I am wrong...please advise. I don't have any formal training, but as we have all seen if you have ever watched the Food Network Channel, there are many great cooks in the world without having to get a degree, and/or certification. Mind you...  I have nothing against getting a degree in the culinary arts. Even at my age (60)...I have even thought about going back and becoming a certified chef just for my benefit, if no one elses. Not only do I want to share my experiences in cooking (both the successes and the bloopers - how can one teach others, if they are not willing to share what does not work, as well)...  I also plan to create recipes (as well as sometimes tweaking them to fit my tastes) from the many cookbooks I have collected, and give a review of those recipes.  These reviews are not meant to demean, or criticize the chefs that created the recipes; but rather give my readers an opportunity to see if these recipes would be something that would be "feasible" to create based on their own cooking abilities, and maybe in time add those cookbooks to their own collection. Think about it...  How often have we looked at a cookbook and told ourselves that getting it would be a waste of time, because we do not have the same level of skills that the chefs who created the cookbook do...  Yet...  As I have experienced...you can't always judge a "cookbook" by it's cover. Because of my own personal challenges, I am uncertain if my postings will be a daily task, but plan to do them as much as I am able. I look forward to sharing my love for cooking with you...

You can have recipes IN your discussion, but they cannot BE your discussion. I have always enjoyed reading what you write about food and I am sure that your food posts will pique my curiosity. I have looked at some of your posts since I just found you are back. I think your blog will be great.

Thanks. I have been dealing with health issues, so I have not done as many as I would have liked. But I will post more when I am able.
