Luke 2:36-38 - Anna the prophetess 36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; 37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. 38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. This shows the true sense of worship that Anna the prophetess had for God. I was preparing for sermon today on the 'Importance of fasting' and found this in the bible. Anna loved God with all her heart, mind and strength. She did fast to show the love that she had for God and served him with all her heart. Due to this bond of love and divine love relationship with the Father in heaven, she came to know who was her Messiah was and she revealed it to the people about him. She spread the gospel about him to the people of Jerusalem, who were waiting for their Redeemer. Such a wonderful inspiration. A very little written about her. Yet so powerful and inspiring.

Thank you for showing how important she was to God and the people she came in contact with daily.
