It Spoke to Me!

This afternoon I ran into the local thrift shop for just a moment. There is something I've been watching for...I know I just need to be patient, but meanwhile I just pop in once or twice a week. This afternoon I spotted this purse. Now I rarely carry a purse, but something about this purse appealed to me...for $2 I just had to have it. It looks brand new, inside and out. It also appears to be leather, or a very good imitation, Have you ever had an impulse purchase because the item seemed to "speak" to you?

Yes, I have had items speak to me. Sometimes I can talk myself out of it if it's not something I really need. Other times, I go with the impulse.

I do a few times. I usually try to refrain because I regret impulse buying in the past.

@Morleyhunt This is so true, most of the time when I spend more I buy something that I did not really need.

No buyers regret with this purchase. If it isn't practical and after using it a few times, I wouldn't feel guilty returning it to the thrift shop. I've spent more on things I've used less.

I love that purse! I'm a purse-a-holic. The one I have now that I adore is a Tignanello that I found in a Good Will for $5.00!! It's leather, kind of a champagne color, has lots of pockets, is exactly what I wanted. It shows just a little wear, but I don't mind. I really would like to find another one exactly like it, only a little bigger. If I do, I really won't want to pay what they usually cost in stores.

I wouldn't recognize a designer bag if it bit me. I have a wallet I carry with me. Often if I need something more I'll just grab a tote bag. This purse will make its debut tomorrow evening.

@Morleyhunt I'm not into designer anything, but I do love those Tignanello bags. You'll be the fashionista wherever you go tomorrow evening. The funny thing was when I saw that purse in the glass cabinet, I asked to see it. I was so happy with everything about it. I asked the price and the lady said $5. I was so surprised, I thought for sure it would be much more since it was under glass, even though it was Good Will. I said, "$5???" because that seemed like such a great price, but the lady must have thought I was saying it was too high. She said something like, yes, it's more than our regular priced purses. I had a good laugh later when it dawned on me what she was thinking! I thought "I would have paid a lot more than $5"

@Morleyhunt It's always fun finding the right place in a purse for things. It won't take long to get used to it.

It sure does. I used it for the first time last night. It did cause me just a moments confusion when my phone began to ring and I had to find the compartment I had tucked it into,

I carry just a wallet/clutch. When I travel, or know I need something larger I have a denim tote with many pockets. This purse has all sorts of compartments.

Yes I have, I bought it for .79 and it turned out to be Waterford Crystal worth $200! Its a cute little candy dish.I do like your purse. BUT some may say we are crazy because we hear voices!!!

Better that those voices encourage me to buy a purse than to empty the cookie jar (into me)

If I go to the thrift shop I usually make sure I have a couple of dollars in my pocket. You never know what you will find. Only one have I spent a "large" sum there $20 for a mattress....when I was tired of sleeping (not sleeping) on an air bed. The $20 was also well spent. I used that mattress for three months until my own bed was moved to our new home....then resonated the mattress.

I'm usually pretty good at avoiding the impulse buy...but this purse just called out to me. Now that I'm home I have no buyers remorse either.
