It has been a nice day

My older sister wanted to go out of town to a fun place for lunch. She said she would buy if we would drive, and we said sure. Normally we would be at our brother's house for Easter but he is recovering from back surgery. Pizza Ranch had yummy food as usual. When we got done we went to a plant nursery in that town. I picked up four herbs that I wanted to buy. After that we took her to a place she had never been. It is called Dillon Nature Center. It is a free indoor and outdoor facility that educates people about Kansas wildlife and nature. There are exhibits about animals, birds, soil and such. The building has a wrap around deck that overlooks a man made pond. People are allowed to come there to fish. Sis enjoyed seeing something new. Our family likes nature. A Canada Goose wanted to come home with hubby Bob and kept following him around. We drove back to my sister's house and while Bob took a nap I repotted some plants sis had. Last year her daughter had sent her two pots of succulents. I had given her small decorative planters, but she had never repotted them.A lot of them had died, but the ones that were left I divided, put in new pots and watered. We came home and had a quick evening meal. Now it is time to relax and prepare for Easter tomorrow.

A nice day you all had. You reminded me about herbs, I wanted to plant more basil but I am out of seed but I did sow lavender and thyme, yep I got up from this post and poured dirt in pots and sowed seed.

You are really dedicated. I think I have some herb seeds to plant but I have had them a long time.

@andriaperry I am just going to plant my culinary dill seeds, and maybe even fennel from my spice cupboard. I believe I have some "lettuce leaf" basil seeds.

No, it was just Bob and I together so we cooked together. I lead music at church so we had a regular breakfast first. We ate a bit too much the last two days, so kept it simple today in the afternoon. I had purchased chicken schnitzel at Aldi, Bob pan fried that and we ate jello salad and toasted french bread with home made apple butter, also had sauerkraut and stuffed olives as side relish.

@GardenGerty All of that sounds good, well the sauerkraut doesn't, but the rest... We have one day a week where we eat heavier then the other days, and that's on Friday. We try to keep it healthier / lighter otherwise. I've had headaches / stomachaches and earaches the past few days so haven't eaten much at all. I just got my appetite back yesterday.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Are you stressing? Fermented foods, like sauerkraut are full of probiotics and help with digestion. Hubby likes it cold, so we keep it on hand. It is Monday and we both feel better, we will likely keep it light this week.

What a pleasant day you had. My friend came down from Hamilton and did some shopping. She lucked out at the Goodwill: brand new, never worn, designer clothes in her size (xxl) for $10 or less each.

I would love going to Dillon Nature Center. I am horrible at keeping plants alive. I bought two succulents a few years back and killed them
