I have two. Indy Anna (female)and Filo. They are sweet as can be. I call them whispery dogs. He has been difficult to potty train though. He wants to hike his leg on every object in the house. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old but we rescued him at eight months and I don't think he had much nurturing.

Yes! I have a beautiful female Maltese named Gypsy, she's 4 yrs. old and she's the second one I've owned. The one before Gypsy passed away :-( But I loooove Maltese dogs! They are highly intelligent, very playful well into their old age and very affectionate. They're also great little watchdogs :-) Gypsy is very funny. She is actually bilingual and she think she's a human being. She will eat when we eat and sleep when we sleep. If we stay up late, she will too and then sleep all day LOL

Oh I love the Maltese breed. So much in fact, I have three. Two females and one male. Their ages run from four years (Stormy), three years (Tigger) and two years (Squeekers). We bred the two oldest and the two year old is the daughter of the four and three year old. I was there and helped deliver all three puppies. I even cut the umbilical cords. The last pup born was breach and I gently pulled her out, and broke the bag, then let mama take over. I had blood and amniotic fluid all over me. I can't even describe the feeling of bringing three little ones into the world. It touched my soul. They weighed about 2 - 3 ounces when they were born and had very little hair. I slept on couch for six weeks, next to their bed. New Maltese mama dogs tend to suffocate puppies by laying on them, and I wanted to make sure that didn't happen. My husband was not a happy camper. Stormy and Squeekers weigh about 8 pounds and little Tigger weighs a whopping 4 pounds (and he's the daddy - too funny!). I taught myself to clip them, and actually have had people ask who grooms them; and then I tell them that I am the groomer and they want to know how much I charge - LOL! Anyway, I trim toenails, ear hair (inside), and hair around their eyes. Stormy is quite the Miss Priss. She hates getting her feet wet, so when the grass is wet or snowy in the yard, she does her business on the patio. It drives me crazy. But I gotta love her anyway. She is my husbands dog, and follows him everywhere. Squeekers (the daughter) is such a sweetheart. Body wise, she looks like Stormy, long and sleek, but her daddys personality shines through. She nips at my feet at feeding time. Not hard, but enough to let me know its time to eat. Tigger is my baby. When he was a puppy, he would literally walk through the chain link fence (you know, the little diamonds in the fence). It was so cute. If I was out of the yard, he would come through the fence just to be at my side. And he is still at my side. He stays a maximum of three feet away from me. When I am away, he whines at the door until I arrive home. It drives my husband nuts. When I get home, he bounces around and darts through the house (hence the name Tigger). Oh, and Tigger truly believes that he is a Great Dane. He had no idea that he weighs 4 pounds. All three of them are excellent mousers and I would put any of them up against a cat for mousing, any day of the week. I love my Maltese and wouldn't trade them for any amount of money in the world.
