I hope I didn't wreck my Fitbit watch

I got a free, used Fitbit watch from my daughter some time ago after she bought an apple watch instead. The battery detaches from the watch band and goes into a latched compartment on an USB cord. Once charged I have to get it the right side up back into the band. Several times in the past I've put it in upside down but usually I notice and fix it right away but the last time I charged it I headed to work and didn't realize I put it in upside down for several hours. Since then it's been blinking non-stop. I checked my Google and it said to shut it down to see if that helps. Although that took a bit of Everett to find the shut-off screen while it was constantly blinking eventually I did find it and shut it down. I then had to figure out how to restart it but that was was the easiest part. It did eliminate the blinking so at least it's not ruined. I didn't really want to spend money to replace it. ~~~~~~ We did some work a bit everyday this week. One took three days since I needed longer screws to properly hook in an air conditioner. I was more tired than normal but it may have been the going up and down the stairs.

@LadyDuck I may end up looking for a different style as I don't know how accurate this one is. I mostly want to see my sleep patterns and sometimes it tells me I only slept a few hours when I got more sleep than normal for me. Or maybe, I'll just go back to a regular watch, we'll see.

Meaning you never wear them or use them for what they're designed? Or you put them there each night for safekeeping?

@MarshaMusselman I don't wear them. The Zenwatch is very large and bulky and the fitbit, well, I forget about it. I know, shame.

@noni1959 Well, if you really would like to try out the fitbit you'd want to take it out and put it somewhere in the open so you see it when you begin your day. You may find you like using it.

/that will be great for the both of you. I know how tiring that can be. I am no longer tired from working that one job, but I do wish my surgery was next week rather than a month from now. I am taking next week off on vacation mostly to be able to get a lot of work done before I have off if the weather works with us, that is. I'm not able to look at my phone to check the time while on the clock. And I've worn a watch all my life and it would be odd for me not to have anything on my wrist.

@responsiveme It doesn't look like we'll be getting much work done this week after all since rain is expected almost every day. Unfortunately, there's too many that want their houses done next week. I'm hoping we can fit one or two in here and there this week as their painters get done with certain rooms or if it doesn't rain too early in the mornings so we can get our equipment inside before it gets all wet. Then, maybe I can do more next week like they all want.

@MarshaMusselman Thanks. Before the mobile came up I always used to wear a watch on my wrist. Simple ones during student days gifted when important milestones were crossed. Then I got an absolutely lovely thin gold band watch as a wedding gift and it was like a bangle actually. About 10 years ago I lost it, the clasp came loose and must have fallen down. I bought a brown leather strap one after that but never got around to wearing it. Since then use my phone or look at the wall clock. Hope you do get your work done next week .It is always better to get your surgery over and done with but sometime the only option is being patient. Have a good weekend.
