The Sea of Clouds

No this is not about the reflection of clouds upon the water. If any of you have been to the Grand Canyon perhaps you have seen this phenomenon. At the Grand Canyon, there are great changes in elevation and parts of the park experience different weather conditions. The coldest and wettest area here is the North Rim which has an elevation of over 8,200 feet and about 8 miles away at 2,460 feet Phantom Ranch is the hottest and driest area. As a result of which there is an unusual phenomenon that occurs at Grand Canyon when cool air winds up getting trapped beneath a warm air layer and it creates what looks like a sea of clouds. Has anyone been there and seen this? You can see more images of this remarkable phenomenon here: https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2013/12/a-sea-of-clouds-fills-the-grand-canyon/100640/

@cacay1 Being on a boat where it is that foggy is scary. Being on a boat in the middle of no where all sea sick is scary enough when its clear. Glad that is by shore. Take me home skipper.

Grand Canyon is so famous in the world. My friend teacher there in New Mexico told me about this canyon and some stories of casualties. It's an amazing wonder of nature.
