I have to give credit to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey for answering the call from concerned citizens in his community about dogs that are in the Animal Care Shelter who during the Fourth Of July holiday that passed recently over the dogs getting scared when they hear fireworks. Sheriff Ivey has sent some inmates to read and comfort the dogs that are in the shelter who will be scared over hearing the sounds of fireworks. This is a winning idea since dogs will serve as one way to rehab the inmates to return to be productive persons when they leave prison by sharing love to a service dog.

Oh my goodness I love that. That warms my heart so much. I watch a documentary of inmates taking care of dogs and it really helps them so much.

@Deepizzaguy Depending on their behavior and also just the status of the prison they do all sorts of things to help reform inmates.

It helps the prisoners to reform their lives and the animals gain a new friend.

That is a great program to have. Lots of animals get scared when they hear fireworks.

All of my late dogs were shaking like leaves when they heard thunder or loud noises.

What a wonderful idea. Some dogs are really terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks.

Not all prisoners are cold monsters. There are some prisoners who do have a change of heart while they pay their debt to society.
