Even though Dale Schroeder passed away in 2005 at the age of 100 years, he is being remembered by 33 teens who earned a scholarship that paid for their college expenses in Iowa. Dale who worked 67 years as a carpenter before he retired from his line of work was known for saving his money since he was not married and he lived a life of living within his means. Dale who never attended college himself before he passed away had a chat with his lawyer Steve Nielsen hw he could leave his fortune to improve the lives of his community. Since Dale had around $3 million dollars in his bank account. he decided to give away his money in a form of a "free ride" to students who qualified to attend college free of charge. It seems to be the latest news cycle that a rich person Is setting aside money for students to either pay off their college debts or attend college free of charge. The funny thing is that the late Dale Schroeder is remembered for his act of kindness in Des Moines Iowa instead of a worldwide market.

@Deepizzaguy I find that common with the older generation. We always want to give our kids what we didn't have. It's great he followed through in such a great way.

That is true since he cared enough to give kids something he did not have when he was a teenager.

And he is not a typical rich person he is just a hard-working man who saved. His money means a lot more than from most people like Bill Gates

That is what I liked about Dale. He wanted to leave his savings to be used for someone who really needed it a lot.

Dale did not make a big deal about it like others who have money and power do.
