Addicted am I

A few years ago I had a little routine going: I'd visit various second hand shops and oh boy! Some elder had dropped off a precious piece of porcelain or hey! red bed stead pieces- perfect for the garden. I have quit. I swear to the Diety that I am not engaged in such larks. I have cleared and cleared. And then.... I just spotted a glorious metal panel that has cut out pansy flowers in the middle. Yup. I'm headed over to buy it at noon tomorrow. It will be easy to bring with us when we move. Heh heh.

Some things are worth having though, aren't they?

For sure @JudyEv. The trick is to figure out which to keep and which to dump.

@sallypup True. Isn't the latest fad to keep those things that bring you joy? I guess it's not a bad way to choose what you want to keep and what you want to let go of.

I have been doing the same, staying away, promising myself to cut spending andd stuff in half. Resolutions I report on each month with a blog. I have not shopped a thrift store or even stopped at a yard sale. I look and say aloud "junk! more junk to move and haul around." I think I will move soon too.

Three more years. Will I slam the door on this bit of acreage or won't I? How strong am I? The wider world instead of this constant alone time....

@andriaperry I'm boo hooing all the way. Danged back. Danged age. In about 3 years there is the strong probability of us moving. We want 150,000. Dirt and weedy front yard thanks to doggies so some folks say we won't get it. BUT its not far from town and has water and power and like gardens???

Yes, it can become an addiction. I have a fascination with old dishes. I love the old patterns and have a nice collection of Homer Laughlin pieces. I have a complete set of Virginia Roses. My hubby has learned the name and knows the association and his favorite remark is, "Tell Homer to go somewhere else." LOL

@kareng You and I need to get together. I adore Homer. I make bread in vintage Pyrex bowls. I have two cabinets filled with English and Bavarian china. I live with a tidbit tray if you want to have tea some day?

We're downsizing. I avoid bringing anything new into the house.
