Major League Baseball (MLB) Trade Deadline

Hello sports fans how are you, I hope all is well. The trade deadline passed on July 31, 2019. As usual there were buyers trying to add a few veterans to compete for the playoffs and World Series. Of course there were sellers who were trading veterans for young prospects to build a playoff team in the future. Many people think the buyers are paying a ransom for the veterans and mortgaging their future. Here is one astonishing fact that may change your mind. Only twenty percent, that is right 20%, of the young prospects go on to have a successful career in major league baseball. So the vast majority of the young prospects are failures. What do you think? Does this change your view of the buyers and sellers at the trade deadline? Thanks

Always a risk that prospects pan out just as a risk that veteran star player will do well or not get injured. The Dodgers' decision in recent years to hold top prospects has been correct.
