Walmart's new gun policy

So yesterday I read that Walmart is going to no longer sell handguns and ammo for handguns, they are also making some changes to other gun related sales. They have not made it an official policy yet but they are asking people to not conceal carry in their stores regardless of the states laws. I know that they will have a lot of support on this and they will also have a lot of people against this. I for one have never bought a gun or ammo from a Walmart, however I am licensed to conceal carry and I do shop at Walmart fairly often but I guess I will be going some where else to do my shopping. I'm sure they will not miss me but it is the point of them asking me not to be able to defend myself that makes me want to go somewhere else. I usually don't take sides on here about controversial subjects but this one I guess I feel strongly enough to take my side. I have always believed in my right to defend myself and if that means by deadly force so be it. To walk around in life with you head buried in the sand thinking it wont happen in your town is just crazy to me. Think about how many people thought it wouldn't happen in their town and then it did. Thinking that the police are some how going to help you in that situation is just as crazy. What is the average response time in a crime reported to the police and them arriving on scene? 5 minutes? That can be a life time, literally. So people think that stricter gun laws are the answer. I'm all for background checks and waiting period to buy a gun, those are what I agree is common sense laws but to those who say guns should be taken away or there is no reason to have a gun, I think your foolish. You really think that making a law is going to stop criminals from having guns? I wonder what you all think. I would love to have a nice conversation about this. As always, have a great day.

This is an American topic. Europeans have different views on it -- in which Americans aren't interested.

Perhaps that is true. Not sure what that means though.

It's not that we are not interested, we acknowledge humans are predators by nature. This is precieved as a negative connotation. However, it is how we as a species have been able to achieve our position here on earth.

A little late to the party but from what I've observed Wal-Mart is going the way of K-Mart. I can only imagine the loss in sales. Taking into consideration the more recent store closings Wal-Mart has had to undergo It is a reckless move on their part. It's kind of like Toys R Us supporting Planned Parenthood. Talk about killing your sales. Where I live people still open/concel carry in their local Wal-Marts.

I personally have not been in a wal-mart in about a year and a half. I don't have any plans to ever go back.

Well, I think cause people are idiots. Seriously, there are so many reasons or possible answers to that question. Lack of or bad parenting for one, the want to be famous at any cost, the lack of consequences, the list goes on and on.
