Long Ago and Far Away

This being the first sunny day in several days with the rain gone it made me kind of nostalgic about past Septembers and falling leaves since here in Florida the changes don’t really show up. Suddenly as I was looking through YouTube I came upon a dreamy kind of song with wonderful lyrics by James Taylor “Long Ago and Far Away” which most likely not many of you have heard but I thought I would share it with you. The song was written by James Taylor and on his album Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon in 1971. It didn’t make it to number one but became a popular song in both the U.S. and Canada. What is interesting is that Joni Mitchell sings the background vocals on this and Carole King plays the piano.

I have just listened to it. Its music is good aside from its wonderful lyrics. I like it. James Taylor is one if my favorite American singers.
