Once Again I Am To Blame - Landlady Vs. Tenant - Round One

For many years I went without having a lease, just pay up and move in. Laws changed because people were ripping off the utility companies by not paying, then having someone else in the house go and turn it back on, cheaper that paying the bill in the other persons name. Needing a lease from then on my attorney printed up me the lease he uses for his rentals, with the state law acts of "tenant and landlords." He explained we live by rules, us and them, this is for the both. The tenant that moved on the 14th. set up a time for the other tenant to come and get ALL of their belongings, that time was yesterday at 3:15. I pull up and the neighbor tells me that the tenant came last night broke in and took a bunch of his stuff. I call the police because I am not going in there after she told me this. They come and clear the house, again. This time asking me to plywood that window, I agreed 100%. I also told them they were to move all this evening. Now... here we go. I was there, no show, he still would not answer the phone, so I called her after waiting over an hour. I mow the grass around the house, I swept the porch, I vacuumed and swept the house, killing time. Almost another hour passes still no show. I call her back and I get the voicemail and I let her know I know the game, I leave he comes in the window but that is not going to happen because the window is fixed, he would be arrested for breaking and entering, that they no longer live there. There was two cars that kept circling and staring at us, I knew those were his look outs. Tony told me they would not come why I was there, so I left. A couple blocks away is a gas station and "looky looky!" there he sat in his car, not a truck with a trailer. I fly in and he actually tries to turn and shrink in the drivers seat. He then acts like he was not busted by me and inches over to talk. "I was waiting on the guy with the truck" and he was talking fast and all over the place, looking at several phones, telling me he has tried to call, then talking about the dope addicts he had at the house.... I will get back to that one. Then it happened! The one car that was circling pulls up, listens for a minute then tells me " I want my stuff from that house." I have never seen this man before, he must have noticed by facial expression and told me he used to be roommates with him and he has this and that at the house. I told him "well.... I have been waiting for them to move the stuff." He said "when is good for you?" I said " now, I have waited for hours." And here is comes.... The man control thing. He said " Morning are better for me. I can be here tomorrow morning." I replied "Not good for me." He asked " when?" I replied "Right now, I have waited since 3 this eveining." He said " okay that is all I need to know, turned looked at the tenant and said "I will be over with the truck and trailer." I looked at the ex tenant and told him "the garage door is open, I am going to the store and I will be back in a few minutes." I come back and they are moving stuff out in the yard and not loading his car. The truck comes and he loads it full! Another truck comes and these guys loads that one. The ex tenant comes over and asked me about t.v`s and play stations, etc. I told him he needs to talk to "his friends" when the police told them to get their stuff and go they loaded a SUV and a car for an hour. I got tired of waiting and went to the DG for a snack. The other ex tenant calls and she was ..... worked up by her ex live in, that was at the house moving stuff. She told me, "I am on my way with a truck and it will take me a while, I want to know where my stuff is?" I reminded her that she told me on Aug. 14th. that she left and had gotten all her stuff, that "he" would call me about his stuff. Now the blame game. Me and this young lady has always gotten along and she is why I rented the house to her, she worked. She told me "My stuff has been stolen and its your fault, you changed the locks," and it went on and when she took a breath , I got in a word and now I am fired up! I let her know that she left, that she left "him" the ex tenant, there with whatever she had left behind, in his care, that he let in his dope addict friends, then on a last note I could not help myself, I told her "He let you down not me, I am ending this call now, bye." And I can say, I seen nothing there was was womanly it looked like a guys place.. This move went from almost 6 pm till 1:15 am.... wait till you hear "jump on the landlady"

You are brave. I would not have wanted to be there alone with those men or whatever you want to call them.

Tony was with me but he is sick and they know it. I really was not alone either, the whole neighborhood was watching this move. They were sick of them, after she left the low class trash came around.

Sorry you had to deal with that but at least their gone now and you don't have to worry about them anymore. Good for the neighbors watching and looking out for you in case anything was to happen. Hope your weekend gets better now that the situation is over with for now.

And then renters wonder, 'Why is a landlord so interested in my past experience, as a tenant?' Your story sums it up in a nut shell, Andria, I could never deal with this sorta crap, in a million years!' They played mind games, to keep from doing what they were suppose to do

@andriaperry Even if they did read over the lease, they would still do as they please! How many people don't understand, that it's against the law to break out and window, to obtain forceful entrance? They are stupid and really don't even use their brain!

@kobesbuddy To many people watch Judge Judy instead of following the lease.

Being a landlady does take a little bravery, but I have never thought of myself as brave.
