Since like two weeks ago we had planned to make a cookout with my husband's mother. Yesterday they called to cancel it. My husband was so happy to have a family gathering but didn't work out so im thinking what if we make one for ourselves? Would that be selfish?? Or what do you suggest to cheer him up????

There is nothing stopping you from having a cookout. I would still do it, even though your mother-in-law canceled it. You can always have a cookout with her at another time.

Nope, it's not selfish to have a cookout just for you and your husband. They did cancel after all. Have a cookout, eat some delicious food.. that's my suggestion. =)

Thank you well instead of the cookout my husband took us to eat. Without my mother in law.
