I'm no mood for early christmas

Philippines
September 19, 2019 1:18am CST
A long while ago I used to save money starting from July until Christmas while buying gifts. Back then my nephews and nieces were very much young. But now a days I can barely make it enough for myself and dogs. Oh, well I will just continue going to church and pray instead. Gifts are expensive now days. Only businesses thrives this Christmas and greedy people who thinks were oblige to give this season. Have a nice day

@Letranknight2015 I heard some of my friends are starting to buy gifts for Christmas. When the prices are no longer expensive, why not buy now for Christmas.

That was so nice of you to buy for all of them that way when they were little. I understand not being able to afford to do it anymore and hopefully your family understands as well.

In the past years, I started shopping for grocery items in the months of July and August to be given during Christmas to some less fortunate families that are close to us. But this year, I haven't started yet. Maybe next month, I will start buying. I had already written down what goods to buy. I will start with those canned goods, as they have longer shelf life.

I am hoping to start my Christmas shopping soon. Time seems to go by so fast so this year I am going to try to be prepared well ahead of time instead of waiting until last moment which usually happens.

Sometimes just a small gift is just as good as something really expensive its the thought that counts.

Hello @louievill Maybe, it's probably depressing when ever I think of it. I guess you're going to give something this Xmas.

@Letranknight2015 a lot of people I guess get more depressed than you that's why crime rate increases as the holiday nears, people see their lack, comparing selves to others get magnified during these times. I give gifts to loved ones but more so to people who helped me in my biz. They give me money for one whole year and I only need to give back to them once. Another thing I do is to condition my mind to think that these has got more to do with remembering and thanking the saviour more than anything else.

We don't have many to buy for now but we've never spent a huge amount on gifts. Christmas has become too commercialised in my mind.
