Just a fast note here to let you all know I am back home. It's nice to be home but of course, I came back to a lot of dirty dishes. Not complaining--I missed the old coot. lol I will be helping the old coot out today as the bathroom project is still underway. He ran into several problems that needed fixing so completion is pending. We will also have to go pick out some new flooring. I had ceramic tiles before and that was one of the problems in delays. Whoever installed had 3 times the cement needed on some and barely any on others. So it took a whole day to rip the tiles out. This should have been a one hour job. I have lots to do today. Give the critters some TLC, clean up the kitchen and I have to run to town to the drug store. I hope to be back online later this evening. In the meantime, I will be taking breaks and working on notifications and get a bit of reading done. Toodles everyone, and have a nice FRIDAY. Photo Credit: Pixabay, public domain

Ripping up tiles can be very time-consuming and hard work. Hope the bathroom gets finished soon.

welcome home! i don't miss those trips 's the hubs seems quite helpless - house a wreck, kitchen a disaster'n piled with dishes ('n we've a dishwasher...), mound 'f dirty clothes. i'm wonderin' if'n the variance'n mortar 'twas due to the floor not bein' level? they opted to 'cheat'n 'nstead 'f fixin' such prior to layin' those tiles? anyhow, best 'f luck with that, hon. hopefully y'all 're gonna get'er done this weekend.

Yeah, the dishwasher had dirty dishes in it. It wasn't full when I left. It would have been simple to add a few more dishes and run the thing. Oh, they have plenty of shortcuts but the floor was level. One shortcut was a carpenter that didn't know what he was doing. I'm lucky my hubby grew up in a hardware store. His parents owned an Ace Hardware so he learned all about repairs through the years.

@kareng the hubs here 'tis a tad anal. my sweet momma'd come'n do his laundry (i 'twas gone fer 3-5 weeks 't a time whilst my dad battled cancer back'n the hills), wash dishes 'n try to keep thingies tidy durin' the week. 'fter my first trip comin' home'n findin' piles 'f clothes'n various hampers, i washed 'em. then found out she'd done such. from then'n? i'd jest go through, fluff 'em with the dryer'n put 'em 'way. he said she didn't do 'em like i did 'em. what??? same washer, soap 'n dryer.... the hubs 's done loads 'f construction 'n curses lots 't thingies that aint square'n plumb. i dunno why? he ne'er finishes either, most oft leavin' a bigger mess than prior here. 'tis 'xcellent with other folks places, which makes me wanna spit nails.

We too need to do some major clean up in our house. May be during some of the vacations.

Yep. He claims we will finish tomorrow but today he didn't get started until after lunch. Not enough motivation.

Yes, tomorrow will be another day of labor with the hubby. Today wasn't bad. He didn't get started until after lunch. He also has another trip to Lowes. I don't see wrapping this up tomorrow at all.

Yes, it is. Even with all the extra stuff, I have to do. Unpacking will have to wait.

I'm sure all that is not what you were hoping to come home to after your little mini-vacation! But sh*t happens, and you just have to roll with the punches! I hope you and hubby are able to get the bathroom project done soon so you can enjoy it!

Tile is out now. It took him a whole day to pry it all up. I don't think ceramic tile will be going back in.
