Day off - toilet duty tomorrow.

At last I've had a day off. Taking a bunch of rich tourists on a picnic to a remote beach every other day might seem like a dream job, but it's not. I'm there to cater to their every stupid whim, not to enjoy myself. I can't drink any of the beer or wine I keep in the boat's fridge because I have to steer the boat. I can't just relax on the sand beneath the trees because there's always some idiot swimming off in the direction they've been told not to swim ion because of hidden rocks. It's just hard, annoying work. Some of the tourists of course are pleasant, co-operative and good fun, and the sundowner at Madeleine's Beach Bar is a lot more fun because I have nothing to do there and I can join in and enjoy the food and drink that they've paid for. So I've had my day off; it's gone, over, done. I caught up with my sister who came on the boat from Martinique for a few days and now I'm off to bed so I can get up early and take the boat to Pogo Beach and replace the full toilets with empty ones before taking a load of tourists out there for the afternoon. Goodnight.

I completely understand that being a tour guide is far from a walk on the beach - if you'll pardon the pun. At least you can enjoy the sundowners.
