The Popularity of Coca Cola

People say coke is not good for you or not to drink too much of this beverage. However, no matter what coca-cola is not going away and people keep drinking it as long as it’s sold in stores and restaurants. I have taken a liking to drinking Diet Coke with ginger and lime.
People started drinking coke way back on May 8, 1886. That was the time when a man called Dr. John S. Pemberton sold the first coke in Atlanta, Georgia at Jacob’s Pharmacy. Remember that there was a time that drug stores and soda fountains that pumped out your favorite soft drink.
Frank Robinson, a bookkeeper was the one who gave coke its name and his handwriting is the famous Coca-Cola trademark. Coke was one of the most popular fountain drinks in the U.S. by the late 1890s.
Then the company sold syrup to bottling companies who were licensed to sell the soda. They added carbonated water and it went out to the public. Today you can drink coke from cans, bottles, and plastic two-liter bottles. However, until the 1960s coke was drunk at soda fountains and ice cream parlors.

@RasmaSandra We had local sodas in Italy, Fanta was "new" so kids wanted to try. I never liked any kind of sodas.

Because soda was a new thing to Latvia when it regained its independence the shelves started stocking up fast with all kinds of soda which people could not previously get and Fanta with all its flavors became number one and after that coke followed by its relatives RC Cola and others @LadyDuck

@JudyEv my average coke consumption is once per 3 months, and sometimes even lesser. In fact, I have now reduced the intake of juices available in the market.

Coca cola is serve everywhere nowadays and many people enjoy drinking it..
Worst thing is when I saw in you tube people using this to clean so many thing 
shock me

I drink ONLY Coke as much as possible. Other soda could give me gas pains.

I've never really liked it, and since working in a lab I like it even less - the smell is exactly like the phosphoric acid we used to use as an industrial de-scaler - and that's because it contains phosphoric acid, that's what gives it its distinct flavour - and also dissolves your bones!

@RasmaSandra Probably a good idea. As a treat now and then it won't do any harm but I wouldn't make it your regular drink.

I love to drink Coca Cola since I was a child. These days it is diet coke that I drink on rare occasions since I now drink Great Value drinks from Wal Mart.

Till early 2000s, I used Pepsi - a rival of Coke more than Coke. But from there onwards, I have had more of Coke. I have heard that Coke keeps its core formula secretly and tightly guarded.

i didn't know that the person who came up with the name and logo was the same person.
when i crave one now and then, i walk to the store and buy a small bottle of it, the glass one. i never liked drinking it from a can or plastic bottle.

When Pemberton sold the first Coke, it definitely had different ingredients. I like my Caffeine Free Diet Coke even though it has Aspartame which is horrible for you. I don't drink it that often; but I can't give it up. I drink it when we go out to eat; and Diet Coke can cut through meals like pizza and spaghetti. Just the taste that's required for those meals!

I have only heard bad things about Coca Cola. On occasion, I buy one at a fast food restaurant. On rare occasion, I drink some during the holidays. In my younger years, I'd have it in mixed drinks.
