Veterans Day - Thank the Veterans in your life. Death/Duty Day - Honors those who lost their lives in World War I. 1865 - Dr. Mary Edwards Walker receives the US Medal of Honor, becoming the first woman to receive the award. 1930 - A US patent is granted to Albert Einstein and Leo Sziland for their invention, the Einstein refrigerator. 1962 - Demi Moore was born. She is an American actress, director and film producer and was known as a member of the Brat Pack. Some of her movies: St. Elmo's Fire, About Last Night, Ghost, A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal, Disclosure and G.I. Jane. In 1996 she became the highest-paid actress in film history when she was paid $12.5 million for Striptease. 1974 - Leonardo DiCaprio was born. He is an American actor, producer and environmentalist. As of 2019, his films have earned $7.2 billion worldwide; and he has placed 8 times in the annual rankings of the world's highest-paid actors. DiCaprio has won 1 Academy Award and 3 Golden Globe Awards. He started out in commercials in the late 1980s and appeared in various TV series, including Parenthood. His first major movie role was in This Boy's Life, followed by What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Titanic, Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, Aviator, Inception, Wolf of Wall Street, The Revenant and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
