Oil Pastel Art & Update | November 13th

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well! It's 1:04 A.M. as I am typing this, so it is getting pretty late. I am not too tired yet though. Monday was good here, celebrated my birthday with my grandma since she was out of town during my birthday. She spends every other week at her mom's so that she is not alone all of the time. My great-grandma would probably benefit from somebody coming by daily to check in on her and help her with some things. Anyways, we had dinner at Arby's and then had dessert - Mock Eclair. It's so good. Not low carb, so I only have it once a year. Tuesday was good as well. It was laundry day but still a good day. There is not really a lot to report on the day besides that. I am sharing a photo I got of an oil pastel design I made. I was just testing out the oil pastels...and seeing how they worked. I will make something better next time (I hope). I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, though. Do you use oil pastels? Have any tips?

That's a nice little painting you have of a mouse sitting on a swing.

Thank you....it definitely could be better but it was just a first try so I wasn't trying to make it amazing.

@MommyOfEli2013 in fairness and in all seriousness, your first try is good enough. I tried drawing when I was in grade school but I understand my limitations in arts.

How I wish I could do this. I only tried to draw using a pencil but not professionally.

@MommyOfEli2013 I think I can do this in the future. Someone had told me that I have a gift. I hope I can do this soon.

Thank you! I think the tree definitely needs work....and I need to learn how to blend the pastels out more.

I don't think I've ever used oil pastels. I like the cat on the swing.

They are not as easy as I hoped to use! But it is fun....just need to play around with them. Glad you like the cat on the swing...I need to learn how to draw trees better.

It definitely was fun, so I think you should if you want to :) The oil pastels are not too expensive from Walmart.
