One of my dad's pictures and a happy memory

This picture is of the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. My dad took this version, I was standing next to him with my Kodak 110 Instamatic camera and also took one! It was a moment from my childhood that I treasured. I made my kids all take a picture of the Little Mermaid many years later when we were all in Copenhagen. But this for me is the iconic original. Not everyone loves old pictures, but sometimes looking back can help you look forward.

Oh I like that picture, it looks like the mermaid came out of the water and is just relaxing on the rock.

@DocAndersen I have a old picture of my mother standing in front of a statue near the river. The statue has been gone so long now, I bet a lot of people knows about it. This was next to Sanford Florida.

@sweetashoney always a little sad when the picture is of something that is no more.

I had bigger expectations before seeing Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. But it appeared too small.

When I was a kid---centuries ago-- I took a picture of the Hans Christian Anderson stature in Central Park in NY--I loved it and his stories!
