Weaning myself away from Facebook

Maybe it is a burnout or simply losing interest that I am weaning myself away from Facebook. My last post was a week ago and I made a post today to inform my friends there that I am not going to post regularly anymore. I did not give any reason so as not to slight anyone. But there are so many reasons, really.

I used to be on Facebook trying to make their world better only to be ignored or insulted so I left them for good in January 2017.

That's sad, one thing I don't like on FB is some people who are not in your circle of friends would make comments

@florelway I have many friends who are strangers but trying to be close to me. That's the problem when you are cute, waheehee, in pictures only.

The only reason I created an account on FB was for business purposes. I chatted with a few family members for a short time.
I used to log in once every few months just to see what is going on with the relatives. I don't do that anymore and have even considered deleting my account.

@Alexandoy Yes, that is true. Sometimes I would hear back from them and other times they're too busy with other things, I suppose.
If I really want to know what's going on with people that I care for, I either call or text them. It's so much easier that way.

My relatives and friends are also my concern. But I'm tired of their laziness in not reacting to my posts.

i never had an account. but what i notice from those who had it is they deactivate it but only retain the messenger feature.

I don't use the messenger. In fact, I never reply to messages from strangers - I have about more than 50, I guess.

I still check it and post some, but don't post as much as I use to. I also notice two of my friends, one I know in real life and one I only know online, have not posted in over a year and they use to post regularly.

I have about 700 friends there but the active is just half and maybe about 1/3 of the active are people that I know.

At some point, it does turn into a habit. Just checking the notifications on your phone. and then you kind of get sucked in.. I too find myself weaning off of facebook. I really don't find a need for it other than looking for information i can't find anywhere else.

Looking back, I wish I have spent my time in Bubblews or blogging instead of feeling sorry for myself comparing myself to my peers in Facebook. I haven't been on facebook for more than a year.

I open my FB several times a day but I don't post regularly, it's good if I can post once in two weeks time.
