Sparkling Sage

Norwich, England

So having spent a fair time out in the freezing cold taking pictures of trees and bushes which were enhanced by the frost, I noticed my sage, although in a slightly more sheltered spot by the fence, looking stunning beautiful with its frosty edge. Seems sage is the plant that keeps on giving - cut herbs in the summer and beauty in the winter.

Does your friend's flower? Most of my neighbours who grow it have lovely blue flowers during the summer but mine's never flowered and I've had it now for 10 years or so.

You harvest the sage?

Yes, during the summer I use it in cooking. Tried drying it but didn't have much success. My partner sometimes cuts bunches of it and puts it on the BBQ as it gives off a lovely sweet scent. Sage tea is also supposed to be good for colds and sore throats.
