Caldereta is a dish made of goat's meat

The mention of Caldereta means goat's meat because it is the specialty dish for goat's meat. Lovers of goat meat say that goat caldereta is better then beef caldereta or even pork caldereta. Maybe I have to agree because goat's meat is much expensive than any other kind of meat in the market.

I like goat meat more than beef but beef caldereta is more common in restaurants.

@Alexandoy goat meat dishes are not readily available. These are available only in specialty restaurants.

I have to say I have never eaten goat. But even here goat is VERY expensive, and most people who have had it tell me it's not worth the premium cost. I'd probably try the pork caldereta.

There is also a vendor selling pork caldereta in the Sunday market but we have not tried it. What I like is the beef caldereta.

@porwest many people here prefer beef because they feel that goat is exotic and not common.

@Alexandoy The beef sounds way better than the goat.

What catches my eye about your dishes is there is no pepper or spices in them. We in India can't think of meat dishes without spices. We are more used to taking spiced curry in meat then meat itself.

@Alexandoy Have any time tested Indian curry dishes? If you have then you will know what hot means.

@msdivkar there is the chicken curry dish here. But I am not fond of it. Gastritis will attack my stomach if I eat very spicy foods.

No curry but for sure there is pepper, that's what makes the caldereta hot.

I cook caldereta but the ingredients are sometimes more expensive than the goat meat, it's one of the specialty dishes I cook on special occasions. The ones we buy in our commercial plaza is a cheap commercial version we buy when we crave for goat's meat,

@Alexandoy yes that is one ingredient that makes it expensive, I also use olive oil, pickle relish, grated cheese, liver spread, sprite after I saute to kill the smell, raisins, bell pepper, paprika, tomato sauce, potatoes etc.. there are some other ingredients I do not find in commercial cooking.

I have never heard of Caldereta, what other ingredients go into it. I heard that goats meat tastes a bit like lamb, but I have never tried it myself.

The goat meat is cooked in tomato sauce and soy sauce plus spices and red pepper to make it hot.

I can't enjoy the dish because I do not eat goat and pure beef dishes (except for a few like burger and spaghetti with beef).

If you are not a meat eater then you wouldn't really enjoy goat meat.
