Rain!

Just had to tell you. We've had 60mm since last Tuesday! FABULOUS. It's been very dry here for quite a few years now. Sometimes it rains but not for long and not much. This 21/2 inches is just marvellous. The downside of course is that the whole house feels damp and musty. This is probably mostly my imagination gbut it's there. I've been pulling weeds for days and I'm thinking I might even get the lawn mower going when things dry out a bit. There's not much grass and still most of the yard is brown sandy patches but the bits of grass are growing green. Such a joy!

It is nice to see some rain coming to your neighborhood since the grass now have something to drink.

@Deepizzaguy And all the shrubs and trees have the dust washed from them leaving them so shiny.

@MsTickle I like seeing rain myself since I just love seeing the streets look nice when they are wet.

@MsTickle I am glad you got rain you needed. I am not happy if your house does not smell like you want it to, but, happy of bits of grass are growing green.

It's so weird; last night at about 11, there was a strong smell of mint growing for about 30 seconds. Go figure.

Thanks Heather. There's so much destruction and loss because of the drought. I'm looking forward to hearinfg good things from the farmers around here.

thats great. Glad you like it. It rains entirely all the time here almost. I wouldn't mind except sometimes it means we are having a hurricane.

@MsTickle Luckily, I live inland on plains on the other side of the ranges so no fires here. The closest fire was at Mount Kaputar 100klm away.

I was so happy when I heard it started raining in Australia. Yes it will mean pulling weeds and cutting grass, but it is better than being too dry.

@MsTickle Sorry. I checked back I thought. Actually, I got the dates muddled. We're not into February yet, are we? It doesn't give a year so I thought it must be current. My apologies.
