There are many forms of meditation. It is up to the individual to choose which type works best for them. Describe what works best for you, please.

I have developed a technique which to describe is like when you have drifted of for a moment and then you suddenly realize you are stareing at someone. Oh the shock, but I find it quite easy to do know, I simply look away and pause(become still inside) all around me becomes secondary to the moment and I am calm.....from this point I then focus on that which I wish to ponder.

Interesting. Do you do this anywhere you are at? Or do you have a special place? How do you make yourself be stil inside? I think this is an excellent way for those that suffer with anxiety to calm themselves. I would like to hear more about it.

That is a great technique. I am going to try it. I need to find a way to meditate that will really work for me as a way to calm and clear my mind. I tend to get way to worked up over the little things, and it bothers me. So one of my New Year's Goals is to meditate. Thanks for responding.

Sorry for the delay in responding, no there is no where special I go. The key to this techniique I developed is in the ability to under focus, when your sitting say in the kitchen, redirect you attention into the next room(actual line of sight)and pick any thing to look at at as soon as you do relax your eyes and let your mind pause, the object will go slightly out of focus an it will seem as thouht you are waiting to think about something but just don't know what it is...hey presto your there.

LOL. I can recall those days very vividly. Anything for a bit of privacy, huh. Keep trying to take time for yourself, hon. It is important. Thank you for responding.

For me I just like to sit in a chair, relax, and think about what I want to achieve over time, or what I am thankful for in my life, and on Jesus and all he has done for me in my life.

That is great. I focus on Jesus and pray when I meditate. It works the best for me. My meditation time is basically a time of worship. I know there are many out there that "meditate" in different ways though. I have really found that what works best for me, is to have that alone time with my Lord and Savior.

It does help. I have tried several different forms of meditation and am now seeking the one that will work best for me. It really helps you focus clearly and maintain a sense of peace and serenity. Thanks for your response.

I practice Sudarshan Kriya taught by Art of Living Foundation. It is a combination of yoga, breathing and meditation ... very relaxing ... for more info on this practice visit www.artofliving.org

That is a cool website. I am going to go back and look some more at it later, when I have a little more time. I think others would really benefit from going and checking out the website too. Thank you for adding that, it is very helpful.

That seems to be my major malfunction too. I am not able to clear my mind enough. There is too much weighing on me that I have trouble clearing or emptying all my thoughts in order to achieve that harmony. Thanks for your response.

Yes, it can be, if you allow it to be. Thank you for answering, mirage.
