The first Serbian uprising began on Sretenje in 1804, after the centuries-old occupation of the Turks At the Sretenjska Assembly in 1835, the Constitution of the Principality of Serbia was adopted, the first constitution of Serbia, one of the most modern, most democratic and liberal constitutions of its time. It abolished feudalism in Serbia and at the same time represented the easternmost reflection of the French Revolution. Honor to Karadjordje who launched a revolt against the Turks.
