Right now, Malaysia has no cabinet or parliament. The whole country is being held together by the civil servants. We only have an interim Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir Mohamad. I'm really disgusted with the politicians that jumped party to join the Opposition and thus claiming that they can form the government because they have the majority seats. I have no respect for these politicians. They initially were fighting against the Opposition party at the general election and after they win under the current government ticket, they jumped ship and joined the very people that they were fighting against. So much drama. Worst than the soap operas on television. It's so irresponsible for them to do this while there's a virus epidemic going on globally. How's the politics in your country? Much drama too?

Is Mahathir the 90-year old elected prime minister? Why is he interim now? Where is Anwar in the picture?

Yes, Mahathir was the elected Prime Minister but after his party (PPBM) for which he is the Chairman, opted to withdraw from the current coalition government, he submitted his resignation to the King. The King then appointed him as interim Prime Minister while they decide who will be the next Prime Minister. It's a really complicated political situation. It has been rumoured that Anwar will never be the next Prime Minister. I don't know what's happening with these politicians. They're betraying the mandate given to them by the people. All they can think of is to line their own pockets.

@UmiNoor thank you for the explanation. That means the King is still the head of the state and also has a direct hand in the affairs of the government. That is confusing.

@UmiNoor in other countries like UK and Japan, the royalty only handles the state affair and they don't get involved in the government's operation.

Politics in America is a mess with the news media beating up President Trump like a drum despite his success getting our economy back on the right track.

@Deepizzaguy True. The Democrats should have put up a better choice for President instead of Hillary Clinton.

@UmiNoor That is true since Bernie Sanders was the best candidate to be the Democratic nominee since college kids liked him.

Well, I live in the United States. Need I say more? We have an idiot for a President, but the Democratic candidates seem almost as crazy as him sometimes. What are some of the issues in Malaysia?

It's mostly corruption. Right now, the former prime minister, Najib Razak is on trial for corruption, breach of trust and other things. He was the sole reason why the former government was replaced by the current government. The former government had been in power in Malaysia for the last 6 decades. And thanks to Najib Razak, the government got replaced by the current government and the former government now makes up the majority of the Opposition in Parliament. The politicians in the former government is very corrupt and self-centred. All they wanted was to get rich by receiving compensations from businesses that want to get government projects. Corruption is the biggest issue in Malaysia.
