Okay, Okay So You Are Not Supposed To Do This ... But That Was Then....

So there she was happily on her way to the shops. No not now a long way back now. She picked up a christmas card out of her postbox and thought I will look at it after. So she opened the card thinking it was from her sister. Well it was from her family telling her that her sister had passed away and wishing her a very merry Christmas and added at the end "just thought we would let you know". She read that on the card and thought that her legs were going to double right there. Was she going to throw a Scarlett O¨Hara in the shop?? Her friend the cashier went and held her hand and hugged her and held her steady. No she thought I won´t throw a Scarlet O´Hara here as her friend held her hand she was able to come to her senses. How cold and callous how cruel were those very words on that card. The fact that her friend held her hand and hugged her helped her get home and recover. So today she was thinking which was worse than that it can cut you to the very heart she can tell you. She ripped the card up and threw it away.

I have gone through terrible situations in that sense with what people now call the biological family. I´m lucky to have a real family who adopted me years ago. They have changed my life. Once I was in anguish and told Humberto, my friend. He listened. Then brought 2 glasses of bourbon and told me: Kill them. I did. That is, I did not kill them but I stopped caring. I threw them away from my heart. From then on, I could even be polite to them as I didn´t care and did not expect anything. Their coldness did not chill me. Many times your own family is not your family by blood.

That is so true and my sister and me were brought up separated as she was made a ward of court by my Grandmother to this very day I have never known why as that was a serious stance to take back then. To say I don´t care would not be the whole truth. I did not feel like anything to drink except a nice cup of tea that day and try and let the tears flow but they did not flow as I felt stunned and numbed for a day or two.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Now your true family is in Spain. Just stay away from this Corona. Water, soap and lots of loving people around.

That is so sad. What an awful way to let the woman know about her sister.

The woman was me Judy but I sometimes like to write in third person to take the sting out of the feeling and emotion. Stay safe where you are.

@JudyEv Hope you are as well. Heaven knows if we are as we live in high rise flats without really wanting to live here exactly at the moment. It was not the first time it had happened to me in that way either two or more events like that happened after but I was stronger for it but it did not take all the hurt and the anguish away in that moment.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I'm sorry you had to find out in that way. Thanks for the concern but hopefully we are in a very safe place here.

I can understand. It is a tough situation when relationships go through their low phases.

They have always really been low in that sense they never change not even in the worst of situations its the way they are without feeling. I have come to take them as they are and with a pinch of salt as we say in England. My friend the cashier said she would have been truly devastated to have received such a card like that as I told her after what they did. Yet it means nothing to them. Thank you so much.

@happylife1 Thank you its the easiest way for me to put it into words. It was something that where I come from you were not supposed to do hold or hug someone.
