Is Trump Creating More Racial Discrimination with the Coronavirus?

@josie_ Our government follows the recommendations of WHO : at pandemic level it is useless to close borders, and France did not closed any border, although the Swiss and German borders are filtered, only goods and workers can cross them (but it is not a French decision, and useless as they are not really closed). Schools, cafés, cinemas, restaurants are now closed, and we are advised to avoid to travel for holidays. We are starting a clinical test this week in the EU on 3200 people, and we will know soon what is the best treatment against the coronavirus.

The priorities is to be get the people treatment not to start the blaming game. Trump had his priorities wrong.

It's no longer a laughing matter when Asian Americans are being confronted in the streets of the US. I have also seen racial bullying in the UK with regard to the virus. How is France coping given your close proximity to Italy? Will your borders be closing? Here in the Philippines there is a major lockdown for the greater metropolitan area which includes the Capital of the country. Although I do not see how effective that could be.

He is dangerous, selfish and a little dictator. Have you seen that Merkel screamed because he offered to buy a German lab working on a vaccine ? He had a meeting on early March with all the labs/companies working on a coronavirus vaccine and offered to cover them with gold to work in the US to do a vaccine for Americans. He does not understand that we will have a treatment before a vaccine. They are starting to test a vaccine this week. The human guinea pigs are paid but I pity them.

It is to be expected anything that is negative he disowned while shamelessly claiming credit for positive things that others did the work.

@josie_ Rest assured that I do not think the same as them. When it comes to a lot of things we are all the same and Spain has the fourth highest rate of infection right now too but its being controlled we cannot go out of our homes except to the chemist and the shop and back home. There are Asian people here and no one treats them like that its awful.

That hatred is borne out of fear and ignorance. Unfortunately, there are political demagogs in gov't and media who continue to spew out racial prejudice regarding this health issue.

Knock on wood. But the moment the health crisis gets out of hand, expect Trump to start looking for a scapegoat to blame. Unfortunately, he can't blame Obama because coronavirus didn't exist then.

@josie_ NO, the Pope is praying because it ends soon. He was walking through the deserted streets of Rome praying yesterday. For him it's not the end of times.

just because this virus originated from China, Chinese Americans are particularly vulnerable to bullying and hateful remarks. Although most of them have never been to China.
