This Is No Joke ... It Isn't A Hoax

The Canadian border has been closed now. 8 million people in northern California has been asked to 'shelter in place'. Every state in the USA now have coronavirus cases in it, West Virginia being the last to get it. Here in North Carolina this morning (March 18, 2020) we have 65 confirmed cases here. It has increased significantly in the past 2 days. Why am I still writing about this? Because first of all, I am most interested. I care and I will help to share reliable information from reliable sources to all my friends ... and readers. I also, read what they write ... I also, check facts. We have to be aware ... people have to become aware that are just going along not ... believing. Many have been told it's a media hoax or a democratic hoax ... I've heard it on the news, you've heard it. Oh my ... this hoax is creating hardship, causing real deaths ... sickness, shutting our country down little by little. What a terrible hoax ... it's no joke. This is real and being called a hoax has delayed important precautions that should have been taken 3 months ago. This hoax is still driving people to act normal as if nothing is going on ... they aren't opening their eyes. We hear people ourselves say it isn't anything more than a cold. It is a little more than a cold ... what they may not realize ... it's the complications (COMPLICATIONS) ... that kill ... it's ignorance and disbelief ... that kills. Only when someone close to them gets very ill, even dies will one open their eyes ... begin to realize what's going on. They may even realize they helped to spread the virus to that loved one by ... being careless, choosing to believe what they were told by our leaders people look up to. I opened my eyes to believe what I felt, sensed inside. I am alarmed ... not panicky but, alarmed. This isn't a hoax. We are living in a time where there are a lot ... too many ... 'firsts'. I used to love the 'firsts' in anything ... they always meant good things. The 'firsts' we are experiencing now ... have become life-threatening to all of us. I just saw on the news ... hundreds and hundreds of people are sprawled out on the beach ... in the water going on blindly about life ... choosing to ignore warnings. They were talking about how many people will be affected in the near future ... spreading this novel virus by doing just such. They also, said on CNN news that this is now the tipping point and urge people to take warning. Looks like right now ... people are going to get those vacations in before coming home to stay. You know how it is ... many choose having fun first ... think about the serious later. I can understand ... I also, can understand this is a very scary way to think today. Why not save that money, wait several weeks to go on vacation? By that time we will have the big picture of what is going on to shut America down ... to bring it to its knees ... to sicken us, our loved ones, people we don't know. We are in this world together whether we think we are or not. What you do affects me ... what I do affects you when it comes to public health. We each have a responsibility when out in public ... it's time for everyone to show it in good ways. These are solely my thoughts only. I don't preach to anyone as I'm no one to preach to anyone. I make my mistakes just like anyone else. I'm the most imperfect person you'll ever meet ... but, you won't meet a person any more kind-hearted, caring as ME. I take that back ... I know many very kind-hearted people. I'm no expert on anything but, ME. That's why I am always writing about ME, what affects my way of thinking, feeling, doing. If you choose to read ME ... I'm honored. I write exactly what I know best ... my life, thoughts, feelings. If you read ME and don't enjoy long articles, discussions ... I understand. In today's time people want to do things quickly sometimes. Myself, give me long ... I love to read something with substance so, I can get a good feel of what I read. Like a darn good sandwich, give me something to nibble on, savor the taste as I take time to read and get ... lost for a time. You will see I write honestly in a good way so as not to offend, hurt anyone because ... I simply care. I never choose wars with anyone ... not verbally nor physically. When I choose a war it will be over something that's life-threatening, real life ... never a petty, selfish thing. I will give before taking before I argue over something so unimportant. Life is more important than ... having material things ... especially hoarding up to keep others from having anything. I DON'T respect that at all. I don't respect selfishness, disrespect. When one does that ... later when it matters it will affect them in a very negative way ... the tables DO turn ... karma DOES bite one in the a___. How do I know? I've witnessed it over, and over in my years. I've also, been bitten more times than I can count. Believe me, when I learn ... I learn. Sometimes it take so much to open a hard-headed person's eyes, ears. I used to be a hard-head. Today ... I seek information ... I listen, watch while choosing, trying to take the good things in life to make our life better for it. I hope people will do just that ... don't follow blindly not opening your precious eyes, ears we have to see, hear with. I am trying to do the same, more so today, this moment ... to know what is happening in my world.

I am in full agreement. This is a serious situation. I see by the news there are those who still do not believe it. I feel sorry for them when they are struck with the full reality of their actions. (A church that refuses to shut down calling it a political hoax, several bars here in Oregon that would not close, Another in Washington) I fear for the people who are out and about believing that they will not catch anything worse than the cold. The truth of the matter is that even twenty-year-olds are getting serious illnesses with this virus. No one is immune. True the younger folks have the best chance of survival but I could not live with myself knowing I passed it to someone who did not survive and I suppose I honestly do not understand anyone who could. I intend to live life, I will go out and hike, most trails are nearly empty, we went today for a walk on the beach, miles of sand only eight to ten people out there. I will focus on the positives I can find each day or each hour. Stay safe, stay well, and keep writing your long posts.

Thank you, Clint. I hope you and your wife stay safe, well. Everything you've voiced I have been concerned about. I can't believe online, on the news all the video, photos of our youth on spring break packed together at the beaches in Florida. They are going on as normal ... and in a week or so ... I'm afraid they may regret their decisions. Some were telling reporters if they get 'corona corona' they just get it. Skip (my husband) and I walk for a little while each day ... that is our only outing for this time. We are staying at home away from everyone. I understand from the news that we are going to see so much happening during this next week ... I'm saddened to see a lot of our medical people have to resort to making their own protective masks ... they can't get all they need in the way of medical supplies. I enjoyed hearing from you. Gloria

@cperry2 Oh my, I am so, so sorry, Clint. That is an awful phone call when it comes to your precious son. I just instantly thought of my son. He isn't here now, but, he was 40 years old and never knew he was sick. He had 3 blockages to his heart and collapsed. I will sincerely keep your son in my prayers, with my very Heart I hope he gets well soon. I'm so sorry he can't be in the hospital and that's probably a bad place to be now unless he has to be. Gracious. I'm sure Skip and I had the virus almost 3 weeks ago, it was different ... and wasn't the flu nor cold. No one was talking about the testing then. We got better but, we were so sick. I hope your son will do really well. I hope you'll share your updates with me too, I am sincerely interested. I know how I loved my son with my very Heart and I felt your love for your son.

@GrannyGee Well, I just got the third-worst phone call imaginable. My son, who lives in the Boston area, has the virus. He is 39. The truth is, there are no test kits. However, the doctor's told him, you have every symptom, so long as you are not running a fever, and as long as your blood oxygen stays above a certain number, stay home and stay isolated. (They are sending him a device to keep a check on his oxygen level.) The doctor said, so far as I am concerned you have the virus. I will be making this a post as well. Maybe a few more details.

Trump said it was a hoax a few months ago. But it is real and he messed things up.

Sadly, he delayed about 3 months of what could have been done to make all the difference in our people's lives here in the USA. Now, our world is a very scary place. For how long? No one knows anything ... nothing is certain now.

Keep safe. I hope and pray that this pandemic will soon be resolved in God's grace. We are somehow grateful to our Philippine president for his fast action. Though the number of cases in increasing, it is much lower compared to other countries.

Your Philippine president cared very much. I don't know what ours is thinking ... it seems he fights against anything positive. I don't criticize him to anyone ... I know what I observed, I take notice though I keep it to myself. Many people are vocalizing it ...

What's happening seems to be a sign of times. Now people in my country have started slowing down. They stay homes, because there is a community quarantine.

It seems in our country our leaders knew 3 months ago ... no one took it seriously. Now, we have as of this morning 9400 cases, and 150 have passed away. In our state, the cases are rapidly going up as they have just begun testing ... to 150. There still aren't enough tests, hospitals are running out of masks, equipment, beds.

@GrannyGee we are put under community quarantine. We have known about it since January but yes no one took it seriously. Some group which were cancelled in January and February were even resumed in March until now the crisis became worst.

@florelway Here ... it hasn't been but, a short time before everyone was told to stay home. Yet ... last weekend the beaches were full, packed full of young people drinking, partying like nothing is happening. People still aren't believing.

Thank you, Muhammad. I hope you and your loved ones are safe. I haven't heard if in your country this is happening there, also? I hope not.

All that is happening should be a real cause for serious reflection on what is really going on in this world and what we have done to the planet.
