Why do the British make such wonderful Mystery Television Programs?

I really enjoy watching British Mysteries on TV. Even my two year old dog loves watching Misnomer Murder Programs, that show has consitistantly entertained for over 21 years now. (My dog likes to bark at the other animals frequentlly on the show, and look at the lush Countryside). Doc Martian is a blast to watch and quite humorous, but a little frustrating with the romance between the Doc and his school marm gf. Murder In Paradise is lots of fun. There are so many more great programs. Why have the British always been so good at Mystery stories?

Wow You really think these shows are good, dont you? I far prefer American Shows like Hart to Hart or the Jessica Fletcher one.

I don't know...they just are good at it! I've never watched any of the ones that you've mentioned; but I have heard about people liking Doc Martin.

You can watch many of the Midsomer Murders on youtube, for free without commercials. It's also available on IMDB tv, if you have a firestick.

They just do! I enjoy Midsomer Mysteries and Doc Martin is awesome. There are so many good shows including those with a darker side.
