Animals and birds are enjoying free space now

Peacocks on the streets of Mumbai

My city is almost like a concrete jungle with the roads always full of traffic. But now with a lockdown the roads are looking bare and beautiful. There is a part of my city where sometimes a peacock has been spotted. But now with no vehicles on the road a group of peacocks are roaming freely. They are definitely enjoying the lockdown and would be most disappointed when our life gets back to normal. This is a photo that has been doing the rounds on whattsap and people just cannot stop talking about it.

Heard it does happen sometimes when they coming flying out of nowhere. I have once experienced a peacock flying past just ahead of my car. Luckily it was a few feet away and our driver slowed down the vehicle immediately.

@anil02 Birds are essential but I don't think they would survive in a concrete jungle like my city.

@mayka123 We still have traffic. I like to see the roads empty now. I am glad you can see the beauty now and not the pollution on the roads. I am sorry for the peacocks.

I have not seen our roads personally for more than two weeks now. I have quarantined myself and working from home.

This has ever been the best time for animals and birds. Fortunately, this virus does not harm them otherwise, it would have been the saddest: people may kill them rather than locking down or stopping the business.

Yes fortunately they were not harmed or affected. And they are enjoying the extra space they are getting everywhere. Its like they are reclaiming their land.

@mayka123 True indeed. It will again be sad once human vultures start going out putting their lives in danger :(
