Garbage collector seems to be on a lockdown too

For 2 weeks of lockdown, our garbage is also on house arrest that some are already decaying and emitting unsavory odor. What is happening to the basic services of the government? I don't want to blame but when the lockdown started, the number of cases rose to more than a hundred. Are we doing something that is not right? What do you think?

@Behindtheguitarbar filled 3 times in a day? I wonder where the garbage is coming from. But maybe the system there is different. Here, each house has its own garbage can.

Gee, 3 times a day is very, very good for the sanitation of the place.

@Alexandoy yes, the trash bins would be soon filled. So in that special moment, the trash bins needed to be cleaned up more.

@Aquitaine24 yes, thank you for asking. Yesterday we heard the truck's horn. The driver said that they had a mechanical trouble so the truck couldn't be used.

@Alexandoy Much of ours is run privately in the rural areas. It is up to them. The government could tell them to stop but hasnt. They are just being careful with precautions.

@wolfgirl569 that means it is better if the garbage collection is run by a private company.

Here some are still running normally and our rubbish is always cleaned, and with the rise of the virus in addition to disinfecting we also do fogging.

Currently our refuse collection is carrying on. The last thing you need at this time is another outbreak of diseases caused by the build up of rubbish! I hope they start to clear it soon!

I agree that the government needs our cooperation. But they should at least think very well for what I see here is a haphazard decision. No need to wear face mask. But yesterday the headline says it is imperative to wear a face mask.

I still don't know the reason why they stopped working since they are under the government payroll and they are not related to the lockdown rules.

Our public services division did an agreement with barangay officials based on the ecological solid waste management act that each barangay will took charge on the collection and after that, they'll call the PSD for the collection of garbage that is properly segregated. The barangay garbage collection team do not accept unsegregated garbage from households. In our barangay, they have a collection point where household brought thier garbage with personnel to check. They no longer making rounds to every corner of the streets because they found out that some household do not segregate and just dump their garbage at the truck. After that point of collection style was implemented, the personnel checked the garbage if it was properly segregated and if not, they will let the person delivering the garbage segregate in front of theirs. Now, it seems that the barangay people used to the collection style and we follow the rules. The schedule is twice a week. Tuesdays for bio, Fridays for non bio.
