In Pennsylvania you cannot obtain a drivers license until the age of 16. Do you think the age should be increased, and do you think that there should be an age where you should have to turn you license back over and no longer drive?

I think that maybe 21 would be a better age to start. I don't think the youth of today are responsible enough at 16 or maybe even 18. As far as too old, they should be required to take a yearly test, a complete physical examination, and a reflex test, as well as an eye test. I am sure that there are older citizens that are more alert and able to drive than half of the people on the road everyday.

Yes while that is true, do you not also think that there are alot of older citizens that should have there license revoked because they are not alert enough to be driving something that powerful?

Michael! I think I'm pretty responsible for my age! You know that annoys me when you clump all together. 18 is the perfect age.

16 is fine.. i'm mainly saying this because i'm 16 with a new VW GTI behind my butt:) but I know a LOT of bad teen drivers, so I think it should be increased.

Its 17 in the UK, but many people can't afford to take their tests of buy imnsurance until they have good jobs, so often we start driving later than that

I agree with that, it is a bit to young to have that much power in your hands.

There are bad drivers at any age, I just think it should be a little bit older or maybe better regulations before they give someone that sort of power at wheel. Thank you for responding.

I think things are fine the way they are as for the minimum age to drive. I do like that they are getting more strict about the amount of hours behind the wheel with a licensed driver before they can get their license now, and how many more hours they still need to put in. But I think at 16 you should be able to get a job if you like and not have mom and dad drive you. As for no longer being able to drive, I don't think that should be based on one's age. I think it should be based on their ability to drive safely, I do think they should be test every year or so to make sure they can still drive effectively.

I think it should be raised.Especially with all the teenage accidents going on lately.Teenagers think they're invincible.Well,I'm kind of an exception.I'm afraid of my own shadow.Lol.I agree with taking licenses away at a certain age too.Seriously,if you're driving behind someone and they have a heart attack or a stroke, they're gonna wreck.
