Who does most of the cooking/cleaning at your house?

It seems like it takes forever to get my husband to clean up something, so I usually do most of that, but he does do a lot of the cooking. I just wish that there was some way that I could get him to help out more at the house. Any ideas?

I do most of everything. By the time he cleans up a dish he left sitting somewhere, it's moldy. lol I end up picking it up before it gets that way tho. I have left it there to see how long it would take him to pick it up and he doesn't and it gets moldy. I just do it myself. He doesn't cook either. He does bring home the take out so I don't have to cook all the time. Cleaning, he doesn't know the meaning of the word.

Why thank you but it's ok. He works outside the home and I'm a stay at home mom so it works. It does get annoying sometimes. lol

I do the deep cleaning. Everyone helps clean up and my son and I do the cooking. No ideas on how to get husband to help out more.

I try to make it so all my wife has to do is laundry. Once in awhile though I stick her with the kids for the day so I can get some peice of mind.

I think it is a good thing for both parents to get some alone time!

My husband works a lot so I do most of the housework. When he is home during the week he makes dinner. He also does the yard work and takes out the trash. As far as cleaning up he doesn't do any housework. When he does he just doesn't clean up enough and I end up just doing it. In the place we lived before he did the dishes but now we have a dishwasher so he gets out of doing them.

That sounds fair though. I didn't mind doing everything when my husband was working really long hours. But now that he doesn't I think that he should do an equal share.

I make sure most of the work gets done because my husband works all over the place so he isn't here, lol. However, I have children who do a lot of the actual work. I mean really, even with a big house, it is mostly a matter of keeping up with the work on a daily basis. (Lest that sound too perfect, lol, we have been sick and the dishes haven't been done for two days, so it isn't always tidy here :) If you have any kids over 5 - get moving on teaching them to help. No reason that you should carry the burden alone, lol :)

well, i am blessed i guess you could say that. my hubbie like helping me out, yes. thats amazing but he does. your hubbie need to know that you and him need to help one another out with chores. even if he works out of the house. sugest to him to help out with dishes and you stay and help him dry and at the same time talk about hings. it work for me.

I do almsot all of the cooking, which is cool because i like doing it mostly. My wife does most of the cleaning though it is probaly like a 60/40 split there. we have it worked out pretty well and it seems to work for us. plus i do almost all of the outdoor work!

Yeah, we live in a townhouse, so we don't really have any outdoor work! :) Congrats to you though, helping out your wife! It seems like you have really found a great middle ground.

I do. My hubby is out of town all week so I have to cook for the kids. When he gets home I still do the cooking and cleaning. He won't do it. If I don't cook we eat out.
