Some crimminals can be truly daring. In bright daylight in our city and in front of the hospital, a car was hijacked in front of security guards who tried in vain to stop it. A man was taking his 88 year old dad who has dmentia to the hospital. He went to the trunk to get his dad's wheelchair when the hijacker jumped in the driver's seat and took off. Along the way the carjacker successfully rammed two police cars, and finally threw the senior out of the car at a stop light. The police found the car abandonned later but no sign yet of the carjacker. Apart from bruises and slight head injury the victim is doing okay. Are crimminals becoming bolder these days? @Freelanzer I read once that a baby was inside when a car was stolen. I do not know what happened in the end. The poor man. That is awful and then having dementia and being in a wheelchair is hard enough, but, being in a car when someone takes it and then being thrown out is awful. I have no idea what criminals are doing these days and would rather not find out.

The poor senior. Hope he was not too shaken from the experience. I have heard of cases when thieves hijacked the cars with toddlers inside. Those poor mothers got black and blue, injured themselves after chasing after the cars, begging the thieves to let their toddlers free.

Oh, my! That is just horrific news. I haven’t heard of any crimes here but wouldn’t be surprised if some people start going crazy without a job. Good photo. San Juan isn’t what it once was before the hurricane.

I haven't visited it since 2015 but I imagine it hasn't recovered since the hurricane.

@Freelanzer I doubt it, too. It was such a pretty area.

Some criminals are getting bolder these days since they do not seem to care who gets in their way.

@Freelanzer I agree with you since in the police reports that are stories of children riding inside autos that are driven by criminals.

I expect crime to rise as police are being laid because of the lockdown and criminals can rampant with no opposition. Hijacked toilet paper is worth a fortune.

That is true, you would think it would be the opposite but instead they are taking advantage of the situation.

That was really bad.. but glad the victim was safe. Criminals are still around even we are facing bigger problems everywhere. That is the sad truth.
