Investing in Georgian Glass

United Kingdom

Here is another book from my collection . I brought this book some time ago in a huge box of books from an auction. This book was published in 1969 making it over 50 years old now. However, it is just as good, with lovely pictures and plenty of information, as any modern book on this subject would be. So after reading through it, I now know what to look for when buying Georgian glass. I do not have any Georgian glass in my collection but I do have a few modern pieces. I will use the information that I have learned from this book to try and find some Georgian glass the next time I go to a car boot sale, whenever that will be.

It's good to have some knowledge behind you if you are looking to buy antiques.

@lazydaizee That's good if it helps you distinguish 'real' glass from fake.

@JudyEv There are certain clues that you can look for like the colour of the glass and signs of wear and tear over the years.

Yes, there is a lot of different sorts of glass for sale , both modern and antique. You also have to beware of fakes and this book tells the reader what to look out for.

Yes, I found it interesting because I am interested in glass, particularly old glass.
