The Eagle- poetry

Alfred Lord Tennyson
May 9, 2020 11:32am CST
BY ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON He clasps the crag with crooked hands; Close to the sun in lonely lands, Ring'd with the azure world, he stands. The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls. Who can tell us what or who the poem is talking about?? That was the nut we where given to crack by our Literature teacher. It was my first literature class and it was all quite . We tried to think but couldn't just seem to figure out the puzzle/riddle.. it was a class of 10 boys About 20 minutes later we gave in and asked him to tell us .. "The Eagle boys, the writer is talking about the Eagle.."Said the Teacher And it all made sense.. Have a pleasant evening/night/day

It's a good description of the eagle. I wouldn't have guessed it either.

Oh yeah though it was quite hard to figure it was an eagle being described before we were told

I knew that, because I was an English major in college. Wonderful description!
