New Government in the mist of pandemic!

Life goes on in the Mountain Kingdom! The new Lesotho Prime Minister will be sworn in this Friday. What a distraction! We are hopeful that the new Government will carry us to 2022 to complete the five years term. Lesotho is not really poor. It has lots of water, Republic of South Africa depend on Lesotho for water supply. Other natural resources are diamonds, wool and mohair, potential growth of apples, pears, peaches and grapes. Somehow, there hasn't been someone with practical strategies to utilise these natural resources. I wonder what you would do to bring stability to Lesotho if you were to correct the current chaotic governance.

I haven't heard of country called Lesotho. But your description of your beautiful country with plenty of water, diamonds mines, fruits etc really is interesting.

@17gracemalealea yes I found out. But i find it really interesting how a country came into existence within another country. Once upon a time Lesotho might have been part of South Africa and the need to be independent must have been really powerful .

@jayanth_77 Historical border included the Free State Province. The existing Lesotho is what is left when the British intervened to stop the war ... which the Boers sought to takeover the whole country. Unfinished national case and a bone if contention still pending.

On paper, Lesotho's rich, especially considering its size. It's such a pity to see all these natural resources go to waste

You are right! These projects can't take off and one wonders if ever we will have a Prime Minister who is strategic in addressing poverty and unemployment. .

@17gracemalealea It's just so sad. How did he even win?! Or was the alternative far worse?

Corrections. The Constitution term is 5 years, but he served only 3. The Parliament chose someone from the ruling party to complete 2 years remaining. Yes resources are there but the sad truth is fair allocation of tender... corruption thrives here.
