Some Indonesia love eating hot and spicy food. We often have sambal when we eat. There are a lot of type of sambal in Indonesia, but the main ingredients are red chilli, garlic and salt. I often add onion too to give more taste. All the ingredients is mashed in a stone plate

It is called red chilli cutney or Kandhi chutni in South India . Even grated coconut can be added.

We have sambal kelapa/grated coconut plus sambal. The term sambal is from tamil language campal (???????)

@nawala123 Tamil language sambar is different from the sambal you made. what you made is called chutney ( paste like texture ) in Indian sambar we add water, curry leaves, spices, tomatoes and other vegetables .
