My friend told me that it is weird to watch movies alone by yourself especially in a place like cinema or a theater. She said that at least have someone accompany you, it doesn't have to be a group or something, but I really like watching movies alone, i feel much more immersed and focused on the movies and i kinda don't want to be disturbed in a middle of a scene, especially in a movie that i really like it. I wonder about your opinion on this? is it really that weird?

No, it's not weird. Once I decided to watch a film in the afternoon and was alone in the whole cinema! This was a bit strange I must confess. I was surprised that they showed the film only for me and didn't send me home when nobody else showed up.

It is indeed it can be a solution, but somehow I feel like something is missing about the movie if I don't watch it on movie theater.

There is such a thing as shomba. But I've done it - watching alone. Don't like it.

Woah lol, must be a fun experience to live with. It is such a rare opportunity to have only one movie theater room for yourself. It will feel like you rented it for yourself

well it's OK to watch alone as you can focus on the movie and avoid gettind distracted. it only gets a little scary if it's a horror movie.

@ChandraKP I feel if someone feels comfortable being with themself and does not care what others think should be able to go watch a movie in a cinema by themselves.

no it's not weird, I used to go to the movies all the time by myself. it's a chance to be alone and enjoy something on your own, you don't have to be in a group :)

It isn't weird but I prefer to go with someone else so I can talk to them about the movie afterward

@ChandraKP Yeah you gotta get yourself a friend that knows when to keep their mouth shut. I have friends like that. The only awkward part about it is if the friend thinks going to the movies is a romantic date when it isn't

I kinda agree with you, i prefer watching movies alone because a lot of times, my friend always disturb me in the middle of the scene, kinda messing up with the immersion of the movies. But like you said that if they can manage to talk about the movies afterward then i kinda don't mind it at all to watch the movies with friends, it's a lot of fun when we discuss about the plot we still confused about, or discuss about possible ending alternative which always make me fascinated to watch the movies again. I hope i can find friend like that.

I see, i respect your opinion @Lavanya15. There is this time when i also want to spend my time watching movies with all of my friend together and i get that feeling, but most of the time i, for me at least i enjoy the most of my time watching movies alone. I guess this is just preference then.

It depends from person to person. If you like doing that its upto you. I have friends who go alone. But I can never imagine being in a theatre alone to watch movie no matter if its horror or romcom. I am a very shy person, may be that is why.
