i had an epidural with all my kids, and never experienced any side effects until my last labor and delivery. i had these spasms in my neck for about 3 mths after the delivery and the doctor said i still had some epidural in my system, and my body was trying to reject it- neck spasms that were so painful, i felt like i was getting shocked

I've had three children and did not use them. First you don't know what it's doing to the baby and you miss the whole experiencce of the birth but some people just can't handle the pain. I guess it just depends on the person.

as long as it doesn't hurt the baby then I guess it is ok
