Summer has arrived, for now

We are having temperatures in the mid to high 90's range for now. Tomorrow is predicted to be 99 F. We had thunder and lightning last night, but no rain. Thunderstorms are predicted for the rest of this week. We do not have air conditioning in our main living areas, but have small units in each of the bedrooms. One of those bedrooms is our office space, one is my sewing room. We run the a/c in those rooms only when in them. Time for a nice cool shower then off to bed I go. I know that some of you are headed into winter now.

I hope you don't have high humdity. We have 103f with 13% which makes it tolerable and I have a swamp cooler.

I grew up with swamp coolers in my younger days in Oklahoma. I have not checked the humidity. I am pretty sure Kansas is higher.

Isn't it hot in your home with temps that high and no AC on?

We have several fans. If I am too hot I go to the sewing room or office. Hubby seems less bothered than I am.

@GardenGerty I think women get hotter than men because of our hormones. My brother takes medication for his heart and it makes him cold. Even in the summer. We often have "discussions" over the temp in our apartment . Before he started taking these meds, he and I were on the same page when it came to the temperature.

They have taken the storms out of our forecast, which is good for harvest, I guess.

Anything in the 90s is starting to get a bit too hot for me. I hope you can sleep.

When I was younger I would wait til it hit 100. My house had better windows and usually we were cool enough. We chill it down nicely in the bedrooms.

Oh, Heather. I had no idea you didn't have full air conditioning in your house. Then again, you're pretty tough so you can take the heat. Like my mom, I do very poorly in the heat. It was 96 and humid today, which isn't good. I hope I can get things done very early tomorrow to avoid the worst of the heat.

I grew up before the age of central air. I also have trees around outside.I do not do as well in the heat now as I used to, but too much air conditioning makes my neck and back muscles spasm up. I wish your apartment was better for you.
