Who Needs Sleep, Right??

So, it’s been awhile since my last post and I know that I haven’t been posting as much as I have wanted but honestly, it’s because not much around here has changed other than the nurses for my nephew. At the beginning of this month, we were going to be hiring the sister of one of our other nurses but their dad ended up needing open heart surgery so they both had to go to Texas which meant that we ended up only having a nurse 3 nights a week, leading me to have to do 4 overnights a week. If I wasn’t sleep deprived before, I will be within the next few weeks. The remaining nurse put in her two weeks notice and called in Friday night. The 28th was supposed to be her last shift but she has been told that she will not be needed even if she wanted to come in. The reason is because she had her bf or husband or whatever he is to her TEXT to say that there was something really wrong with her and she wouldn’t be in. HE is not the employee so there is NO reason as to why he has to be the one to call or text when she doesn’t feel like working. Robbie’s other nurse is on her way back from Texas now but has to quarantine for 2 weeks before she can work with Robbie again which is what her sister will have to do but we still have no return date for her. So, I am the only night nurse from now until hopefully the 13th/14th but it looks like we are thinking it may be around the 20th before we have a night nurse again. Of course, there may be some good news to all this. My sister and her bf have put in a call to the company that pays me to take care of my nephew, to see if we can get more hours or if there is a way to get me to be paid just like the nurses but without being certified. Fingers crossed that we get some good news. While I don’t mind all the extra hours that I am not getting paid for, being at my sisters all the time leaves me no time for me and my daughter who GRADUATED from high school last week!!! The reason I would like to have time with KK is because as of Sept, we are going to be looking for her first job. We have a plan for her that won’t overwhelm her but it will get her to where she needs to be in the future.

I hope so too. We've made a schedule that could possibly work for all of us but we will see. It's only 3 weeks.

I hope it all works out. Congratulations to your daughter on her graduation. We went to a physically distanced grad last week.
